Webinar Summary

AOAC International created the Cannabis Analytical Science Program (CASP) in 2019 to develop standards, Official Methods of Analysis (OMA), training programs, and proficiency testing programs for the fast-growing cannabis testing community.

CASP developed a standard for cannabinoids in hemp to support the so-called Farm Bill of 2018 that created the U.S. Domestic Hemp Production Program.

AOAC will be reviewing candidate cannabinoid methods on March 11, 2020. This webinar will discuss the AOAC process for creating a standard and adopting an OMA; review the standard for cannabinoids in hemp; and provide you with information about the AOAC Official Methods of Analysis for cannabinoids in hemp.

In this webinar:
  • Learn about the AOAC INTERNATIONAL’s Cannabis Analytical Science Program (CASP).
  • CASP developed a standard for cannabinoids in hemp to support the U.S. Domestic Hemp Production Program created by the Farm Bill of 2018.
  • Holly Johnson reviews the AOAC Official Methods for THC in hemp.
  • Learn about progress to develop an AOAC Official Method for moisture in hemp in support of USDA’s requirement to measure THC in hemp by dry weight.
